In the fourth quarter of 2020, the European food delivery service apps experienced various changes in their performance on the iOS platform. This data-driven recap, courtesy of Sensor Tower, offers a glimpse into the download and weekly active user trends for the top five contenders in this competitive market.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery saw its downloads fluctuate, starting at approximately 157K in late September and peaking at nearly 195K in early November before dipping to around 182K in late November. The app finished the quarter with a spike to roughly 182K downloads. Weekly active users saw a high of about 4.8M in mid-November, but there was a notable drop to 3.4M in the week of December 21, ending the quarter with approximately 4.3M active users.

Deliveroo: Food Delivery App also experienced a wave-like pattern in downloads, beginning the quarter with around 81K and reaching over 100K by late October. The app's downloads dipped slightly in November but bounced back to over 105K by the year's end. Weekly active users showed a steady increase from 1.6M to over 2M in late November, then a decline to 1.5M in late December, before recovering to around 1.9M active users.

Too Good To Go: End Food Waste downloads started at 100K, with a notable peak at 116K in mid-October, followed by a gradual decline to approximately 53K by the end of December. Its weekly active users began at roughly 1.5M, peaked at 1.7M in early November, and then decreased to 1.1M in the week of December 21, finally ending the quarter with around 1.2M active users.

Glovo: Food Delivery and more showed an inconsistent trend with downloads starting at 56K, spiking to 85K in late October, and then settling at around 79K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users began at approximately 773K, peaked at 869K in late November, and closed the quarter with around 780K active users.

getir: groceries in minutes had a steady increase in downloads from 23K in late September to over 86K by the end of December. Weekly active users showed a similar upward trend, starting at around 444K and increasing to over 566K in early December, ending the quarter with approximately 561K active users.
